Founder of Kingston Apartments JA. Boutique short-term rentals on the slopes of Long Mountain, Kingston, Jamaica.
My name is Deron Levy, and I'm the founder and operator of Kingston Apartments JA — a boutique collection of short-term rentals tucked into the hills of Long Mountain, Kingston, Jamaica. What started as a single guest room hosted on Airbnb in 2024 has grown into a portfolio of carefully curated, premium stays designed to feel less like a rental and more like a private retreat.
I come from a Jamaican family that has been investing in Kingston real estate for decades. The properties themselves are family-held; the hospitality brand, the design direction, the guest experience, the photography, the systems behind the bookings — that's the part I built. I'm also a co-owner of Skyline Escape, one of the most-reviewed stays in the portfolio, where guests routinely call out the design and finish in their reviews.
I left Jamaica at fifteen on a scholarship to The McCallie School in Tennessee, then went on to the University of South Florida in Tampa, where I study finance with a concentration in real estate development. Splitting time between the U.S. and home gave me a clear lens on what international travelers actually want when they come to Kingston: thoughtful design, fast Wi-Fi, secure parking, real local recommendations, and a host who answers.
So I took the family's long-held units and rebuilt the guest experience from scratch — furnishing, styling, photographing, writing the listings, and standing up the booking and review pipeline across Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, and Expedia. Today the portfolio has welcomed more than 100 international guests, with consistent 5-star reviews and a growing base of repeat bookers.
Every Kingston Apartments JA stay is privately owned, design-led, and personally inspected before each guest arrives. We don't run a faceless rental — we run a small, family-anchored hospitality business where the host's name is on the door. Guests get hotel-grade reliability with the warmth and privacy of a real Jamaican home, set against one of the best skyline views in Kingston.
Beyond hospitality, I'm a Shutterstock-published photographer shooting portraits, travel, and real estate under @levy_captured. My images have been licensed for international editorial use, including coverage of hurricane relief efforts in the Caribbean. Every photo you see across our listings is shot by me — which is part of why our properties convert: what you see is exactly what you get.
